At the start of the summer, I was asked to create a logo for a property at Winterton On Sea called “Jacks Shack” (no apostrophe as per customer wishes). Jack is the grandson of the owner, and it’s by no means a shack! They were getting ready to let it out to holiday makers.

We discussed ideas, colours, and based it on the famous Big Norfolk Skies and sea-scape colour palettes. As usual I produced six different designs for proof 1, and we narrowed it down to two favourites. A few tweaks and changes later, the whole family had a vote between them, and the chosen design has been made into signs, key rings and tote bags.

No missing Jacks Shack now! It’s such fun to work on projects like these, it was so personal to the owner, and she loved the process of getting to the winning design. I had some lovely feedback from her.

I was supplied with a photo of a stained glass window, which they wanted the brand identity to be based on. So I created a logo based on the thistle and hill window. Using a muted sage green for the accent.

I’ve set up a simple website, with lots of photos and a walk through video. I’ve also designed business cards, with a QR code which links to the new site. Potential customers might find the properties own website even though it’s listed with all the main holiday companies too, and come direct to the owners.

The past few months have passed in a blur here at PX2, and I suddenly realised I’d not been posting updates of my work. Sometimes “doing” the work just takes over, and it’s easy to forget to post. It was clear they wanted a traditional feel to the branding, with a modern twist. They loved navy and gold, and also were inspired by vintage hand sign writing, on the likes of canal boats and haulage companies.

It was such a fun project, with my initial set of 6 ideas ranging from simple lettering, to a very ornate almost circus feeling, to gauge the direction the customer wanted to head in.

I lOVE the final design, it is minimal yet decorative at the same time. With just the right amount of traditional, but not old fashioned looking. I can’t wait to see the brand develop and work with them again soon.

Is your brand ready for the great “open up” when lockdown ends? If it’s in need of a new look for the “new you”, or maybe just a freshen up, then now is the time to get started.

We worked with Sam the Chimney Sweep last spring, to create a new brand identity for the business. Sam wanted to keep a feminine touch, without going too over the top, her main priority was to convey a personal touch, rather than a more corporate style. So her keywords were “personal, friendly, reliable, family”.

The existing company website used lilac as a main colour, so we picked up on this as Sam liked the colour, but also introduced a strong black, knowing that the company van is black and would have to be able to pull off the new branding.

As usual we presented 6 designs for proof 1, and working together came up with the final logo design. The logo shows exactly what the company does, the chimney brush is curved to form a circle and almost flower like to keep it quite soft.

Next we moved on to the van design, and introduced the chimneys along the bottom, to give make van stand out on the road. We carried this through to the business cards and local advertising too. Branding isn’t just about the logo, it’s the whole look and we are very happy with this one!

We recently created a new logo for local company Stonecrete, to update their corporate identity. We began by discussing what kind of look they would like to achieve “traditional with a modern twist” was the reply “possibly in blues, greens or greys”. We produced the first proof, with the usual 6 different design concepts, then worked together to hone the ideas. With a modern looking rounded font with plenty of kerning between letters, to enable the logo to appear crisp and clear even in small sizes, and an icon which represents their product, the final design definitely fits the bill. Using a traditional navy blue to tie in their existing branding, with a brighter vibrant green as a secondary colour, we achieved the mix the customer was looking for. The brighter blue gives scope for accent colours.

We produced a full colour, 2 colour and white version of the final design and a logo guideline sheet to show how the branding should be used, with the colour specifications.

As always, the customer received the files in both print and web formats, ready for us to continue with rebranding items as needed, rather than all at once. We believe the new branding will be used on the website very soon, and we are due to start working on an update to the product catalogue.

She LOVES blush pink, and wanted the logo to be a circle to fill the Insta profile pic perfectly, she helped in choosing fonts she liked too. Working together we came up with the final logo, which Faye can use on her photos as a watermark too.

We have plans to add business cards with gold foil logo in the near future, which will really help add the bling to Faye Beauty.

After showing him the initial 6 different ideas, we developed his favourite one, until he was happy with the final result. We explored various colour options, Steve was keen on lime green from the start.

As always we supplied a folder with the various versions of the chosen designs. This always includes files for print (including the all important vector file which can be scaled to any size for print) and web/screen.

We began working with Helen from Connect HR in July 2019. Initially it started with a new logo design, Helen gave us a very clear brief of what she wanted and the types of colour scheme she had in mind – and as we always do we provided a first proof with 6 different design ideas. We quite often add a curveball idea too, just to see if the customer might like something completely different (a bit like the “mystery house” on the property TV shows!). On this occasion, the “off piste” idea fast became the favourite, and from an initial brief of classic fonts, muted colour scheme turned into a very clean and modern look, with bright colours. We do love a curveball! Once the logo was finalised, we went on to design and print business cards (with spot UV on the reverse) and letterheads. A few months later continued the brand building with 2 different A5 leaflets. We look forward to the next items we add to the Connect HR brand, and supporting Helen as she grows her business. Recently we were asked to design a brand identity for the new Motorsport section at Credo Asset Finance. Credo already has an established brand, so we discussed using the existing logo font, but adding a new icon to go with it.

The logo was needed first on a very tight timescale, but we delivered on time to be included in the sponsor packs for the race season, as they have sponsored one of the drivers in the Mini Challenge 2018.

We began with creating the new logo, then we designed a 6 page A5 leaflet, and a A5 double sided leaflet, which would be handed out at the races which Credo have sponsored. The client has used the new logo on a variety of promotional items too.

We already work with the the owner of 2 hotels (Brook Hotel Norwich and Felixstowe), who recently bought another City Centre hotel, and commissioned us to create a new brand identity, for the renamed Norwich Hotel.

The final logo is based on the cathedral spire Norwich is famous for. The customer requested we use a strong colour to go with the grey of the existing hotel exterior. We chose  a vibrant purple, which really sets off the design. Once the logo was designed, we rolled out designs for all signage interior and exterior, as well as key cards, breakfast menus, bar menu, Christmas events brochures, and are constantly adding new items to the brand as they are needed.
